Employee Wellness Programs
The Big Kick-Off
Schedule a company-wide meeting to get employees excited about your new health and wellness program. You’ll want plenty of informational brochures and flyers to hand out to your staff, plus health-related promos to delight and inspire them. Some ideas for launch day: branded journals to log daily exercise and diet, first-aid kits for keeping at desks or at home, or cold care kits to help staff when flu season comes around.
Weight Loss Initiatives
Motivate employees to get fit by providing exercise and weight-loss incentives. Kick-off a company-wide “Biggest Loser” challenge to see who can lose the most weight in a set timeframe. Be sure to have awards and promos like gym bags and exercise apparel to reward the victors. If you have an onsite gym, pick a weekly open gym day and hand out branded sports bottles to get employees ready to work out. Or, see if you can have a dietician or nutritionist come in and educate employees while passing out branded lunch bags, making it easier for employees to eat healthy food from home.
Smoking Cessation Programs
Many of your employees want to quit smoking, but need a little help. Launch a smoking cessation initiative to reward employees for kicking the habit once and for all. Host a smoking cessation seminar and pass out promos like dental-care kits and mints to educate workers on how smoking can harm their teeth and lungs. Consider reduced fees on healthcare for employees who are “smoke-free” too – sometimes paying more is all workers need to put the packs away for good.
Milestone Prizes
Celebrate every step on your employees’ paths to healthy living with promotional prizes and awards. Gym-related giveaways like towels, arm bands and performance wear will keep staff motivated to continue their workout goals. Reward those who quit smoking with a commemorative plaque to celebrate their first month smoke-free. Or, surprise all your staff with pedometers and hand sanitizer for their hard work, which will make employees feel appreciated.
